The League of Women Voters of New York State held a new member orientation outlining the organization's structure, history, and mission. 

The League operates on three levels: national (LWV US), state (LWV New York), and local leagues, with about 40 local leagues in New York. It is a nonprofit, nonpartisan grassroots organization focused on empowering voters and defending democracy through education, advocacy, and litigation.
